I talk all the time about how proud I am of the work that comes out of my alma mater Johnson & Johnson. When I see the incredible marketing coming from Tylenol, Clean & Clear, and Johnson's Baby I just beam with delight. These brands inspire us and reflect current pop culture attitudes and behaviors.
But there's another alma mater of mine that I rarely mention, and they've just outdone themselves in the marketing department.
JCP was my first job in high school. I worked for years in the catalog department and then in the men's department. I learned so much and made so many amazing friends.
So you can imagine my delight when I saw this piece of film, presumably for their clothing line, but aiming for something so much more important than selling.
The message is inspiring...and really got me thinking about how we perceive each other and how we accept each other. The brands use of influencers, from a marketing perspective, is brilliant...showcasing their talents and successes to make us realize that size and physical appearance is irrelevant.
"Would my life be better if I were thinner? ... NO! But it would be better if I wasn't treated so poorly because I'm not."
